Empowering Youth to Combat Diabetes and Obesity

We recognize that physical health is the foundation of mental strength. Through structured boxing and fitness training, health and nutrition education, one-on-one mentorship, guidance, and hands-on community volunteer projects, we give young people the tools to build resilience, foster communication skills, and take control of their own health. Vitality Development Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2024, building upon the work of Villegas Park Boxing, a community-based youth boxing program serving the Casa Blanca neighborhood of Riverside since 2005 — together dedicated to empowering youth aged eight and up to lead healthier, stronger, and more confident lives.
Our Coaching Staff
Villegas Park Boxing is led by seven dedicated volunteer coaches — Joshua Carbajal, Anthony Gonzalez, Ricardo Aguilar, Joe Perez, Tony Rivera, Rey Rivera, and Mario Ramirez — all USA Boxing Green Level Certified. Joshua and Anthony additionally hold Bronze and Silver Level Coach Certifications.
Recognized by Our Community
Our work has been honored by the City of Riverside and the State of California.
In May 2026, Riverside Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson proclaimed May "National Physical Fitness and Sports Month," presenting the proclamation directly to Head Coach Joshua Carbajal before the City Council.
In September 2025, the California State Assembly's 58th District, represented by Assemblywoman Leticia Castillo, recognized Joshua Carbajal for his leadership and mentorship, and athlete Anias Carbajal for his back-to-back SoCal State Amateur Championship victories.
